Living in Australia
When it comes to quality of life and opportunities, there are few countries to rival Australia; we consistently rank among the most popular destinations for people looking to relocate. Blessed with a myriad of natural wonders, Australia is renowned for its healthy outdoors lifestyle. No matter what kind of future you are looking for Australia is unlikely to disappoint.
Our two largest cities, Melbourne and Sydney, are vibrant and cosmopolitan with immigrants from around the globe having embraced life here for more than 50 years. Both cities offer a thriving food and cultural scene that results from this diversity.
Perth and Adelaide both have a wonderful Mediterranean climate with an outdoors lifestyle to match. They offer a more relaxed pace than their east coast counterparts. They also have excellent schools and health facilities.
Perhaps you prefer a sub tropical climate? Then Brisbane, with access to the stunning Queensland coast will be on your list. Currently enjoying record population growth and job opportunities to match, Brisbane also enjoys excellent recreational and cultural facilities.
If a more relaxed and country lifestyle appeals, then regional Australia may be for you and PB is well represented in these areas too.
No matter what your lifestyle is, Australia has much to offer.

ANDY DAVIES
Capability Executive - Water Infrastructure
I joined PB Australia three years ago, not only changing my job, but also relocating from the UK. The interview and offer process was handled well through PB and I found the relocation process to be hassle free.
As for work, in a lot of ways it is similar to the UK and I found it very easy to settle in. However, while it is an innovative work environment at PB, things are slightly more laidback and I was made to feel very welcome in the office from day one.
From a career perspective, I found the work opportunities here to be better than I had experienced in the UK, especially in terms of progression and the variety of projects. In addition, the work culture is great and continues to impress me. There is never a lack of social interaction amongst colleagues, and this culture is being maintained during a period of rapid growth.
In addition to the career advantages, a major bonus in relocating from the UK has been the lifestyle. At the end of the working week, Sydney provides some great locations to get outdoors and enjoy.
PETER HARGREAVES
National Group Manager Project Controls
I have been working at PB for over a year now. My experience with PB began whilst on an extended holiday in Australia. A local recruitment agency mentioned PB, and I found them to be a forward thinking company offering some fantastic opportunities.
In no time I was interviewed and given the chance to have a look around the office and gauge the working environment. The team at PB accommodated my many questions and offered great support throughout the visa application process, and the single point of contact at PB had such a positive impact on my overall immigration experience.
Thanks to the financial support from PB and the initial accommodation they arranged, the actual move to Australia was stress free. Researching the property market online before arriving can make a big difference when you get here*. I'm now settled in my home by the sea, and travel into work each day on the ferry, bypassing the spectacular Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
I have also settled into PB very well and am finding the work interesting and diverse - water treatment facilities, roads, railways, wind power, geothermal power, combined heat power plants, coal and mineral mine facilities. The team is rapidly expanding, giving everyone the opportunity to make a difference and contribute his or her own ideas. This role has given me the opportunity to work within various contract arrangements, including alliances, sub contractor and owners representative and to work on various phases of projects, from pre feasibility through detail design, procurement and construction.
There have also been plenty of travel opportunities, with trips to South East Asia, Africa and all over Australia, including both metropolitan and countryside regions. Although the culture in Australia is quite similar to the UK, each of Australia's cities seem to have a unique feel. Whilst Sydney is metropolitan and multicultural, Brisbane has a relaxed local community feel that you wouldn't expect in a large city. There is a strong European ambience in Melbourne, Adelaide is very mellow and Perth is like a jewel in the jungle.
